+ About Beauty Memento

Wellness, looked at closely.
Explained clearly.

01 · Who we are

An editorial wellness publication.

We cover Fitness, Skin and Nutrition for people who care how things look and want to understand how they work.

02 · What we want

Less “lately.” More detail.

We want to replace vague wellness impressions with clear, specific observations you can actually use in your everyday routine.

03 · How we do it

Notice. Examine. Then conclude.

We look at what actually happened, what changed and what context may matter. No verdicts, no slogans, just useful information presented with a fashion editor’s eye.

Six years,
three things
that changed.

Not a timeline. Companies rarely change on schedule. These are the three shifts that turned an interest in beauty into Beauty Memento as it exists today.

Shift 01 / 03Beauty, then context
Beauty close-up portrait in soft warm light

From beauty to
a wider picture

Our earliest interests were beauty and visual culture. The subjects kept widening on their own. Skin was hard to discuss meaningfully without the week around it. Movement belonged beside appearance. Food belonged beside both.

Shift 02 / 03The situation first
Model in a pink dress mid-stride in bright light

From general advice to
recognizable situations

Broad wellness statements were easy to publish and hard to use. So we anchored the work in situations readers actually recognize: a break in exercise, a change in routine, skin seen under different conditions, one unusual meal versus a recurring pattern.

Shift 03 / 03Image as structure
Design books and printed paper samples arranged on a white surface

From a beauty website to
an editorial wellness world

The visual identity grew with the content. Fashion and beauty culture stayed central, but images stopped being decoration. Editorial photography, visible grids and precise annotations became part of how Beauty Memento organizes an idea, not just how it dresses one.

The people behind the grid

Beauty Memento is not produced from a single point of view. Behind the site are people working across research, writing, editing, visual direction, photography and media selection, digital design and site experience.

The interesting part is not the departments. It is where they meet.

Hands holding and sorting printed photographs on a wooden table
Research +

Takes a recognizable question and gives it context: what is actually known, what depends on circumstance and what should stay open.

Open book with coloured markers flagging pages
Words +

Makes the information understandable without flattening it. Plain sentences, specific examples, no jargon to decode first.

Image +

Visual direction, photography and media selection. Finds a way to make the subject compelling without turning it into decoration. The image has to carry part of the point.

Film strips laid out like a contact sheet
Edit +

Challenges broad or unsupported wording. If a sentence claims more than it can show, it gets rewritten.

Design +

Digital design and site experience. Organizes the finished piece so readers can move through it naturally, on a phone at 23:00 as easily as on a desktop at noon.

Collaboration,
not hierarchy.

No single desk has the final word. Every piece passes through several.

+ Where the roles meet

  1. 01

A subject starts as a recognizable question or situation.

  2. 02

    Research gives it context.

  3. 03

    Writing makes it understandable.

  4. 04

    Editing questions anything too broad.

  5. 05

Visual direction makes it compelling, not decorative.

  6. 06

Design lets readers move through it naturally.

Real people, different instincts, one page. That friction is deliberate: it is what keeps Beauty Memento from reading like a content machine.

N°04 · Readers04 / 05

What our readers have made clear.

Six years of reading replies, questions and the occasional correction. A few preferences have stayed remarkably consistent, and they have shaped the company's direction more than any trend.

  1. 01 · Start recognizable

Information should begin with situations they recognize, not with specialist knowledge they are assumed to have.

  2. 02 · Beautiful, not in the way

Sophisticated presentation is welcome. Aesthetics that hide the actual point are not.

  3. 03 · Room for context

Space to consider circumstances before any judgment arrives.

  4. 04 · No translation required

An article should make sense without decoding professional terminology first.

Reader perspective · 01
I like that the articles usually start with something I’ve actually thought before, then get more specific from there.
Reader perspective · 02
It looks like an editorial, but I don’t have to decode the writing to understand the point.

Reader perspective · 03
The distinction between one unusual day and an actual pattern is the kind of detail I find useful.

Reader perspectives, shared with us. Opinions, not outcome claims.

+ Our responsibility

We don’t expect every reader to approach wellness the same way. Our job is narrower, and more useful: make the subject clear enough that readers understand what they are actually looking at.

N°05 · Closing spread05 / 05

KEEP LOOKING CLOSER.

+ Going forward

What we want
to keep true.

Beauty Memento will keep evolving: in format, in imagery, in the questions it chooses to explore. A few things should stay recognizable however much else changes.

  1. 01

Keep the subjects connected to real life.

Fitness, skin and nutrition should stay understandable outside specialist environments.

  2. 02

    Let sophistication and clarity coexist.

Useful information does not have to look clinical or visually generic.

  3. 03

    Leave room for context.

A single observation should not automatically become a sweeping conclusion.

  4. 04

    Stay curious about ordinary details.

Often the useful question is not dramatic. It is simply more precise.

+ Current direction

Developing Beauty Memento as an editorial wellness destination where Fitness, Skin and Nutrition can be explored through increasingly rich visual formats, with information that stays as understandable as it is today.
